Importance of knees

If you are not a professional athlete or an avid runner, the knee is likely the most important joint in your body. The knee is responsible for providing stability and balance while also allowing you to move efficiently and safely. Without a healthy knee joint, normal activities such as walking, running and jumping are difficult if not impossible. A chronic injury or degenerative condition affecting your knees can significantly reduce your quality of life.

The knee is the largest joint in your body and connects the thigh bone (femur) to the shin bone (tibia). This ball-and-socket type of hinge joint allows you to bend and straighten your leg.

The knee is made up of four bones: femur, tibia, fibula and patella. The patella is a small flat bone that sits on top of the front part of your thigh bone—the quadriceps tendon attaches it to your quadriceps muscle group.

The smallest bone in the body, the patella, protects the knee joint and helps it move smoothly.

You may know the patella, or kneecap, as a small triangular bone that sits in front of your knee joint. It's also called a sesamoid bone because it develops inside tendons and becomes trapped by them as we develop. Its main role is to protect the knee from injury, but it also helps with smooth movement.

According to a 2017 study, more than half of Americans will have arthritis by age 85.

Arthritis is a common condition that affects the joints. It can be painful and cause problems with mobility. Arthritis is not a normal part of aging, but it does affect more than half of Americans by age 85. The good news is that most cases are treatable, and there are many things you can do to keep your joints healthy for as long as possible.

Arthritis isn't contagious or infectious; therefore, even if you have it yourself, you won't give it to others through contact with your skin or body fluids (like sweat). Having arthritis doesn't mean that you're weak or lack fitness; in fact, many people who have arthritis stay active throughout their lives despite their joint pain or stiffness!

We should protect our knees

We recommend you to keep exercising, but it is important to protect your knees because they are more vulnerable than other parts of the body. You can wear compressa knee sleeves when doing exercise and sports to support your knee joints and help them recover faster.

You can keep your knees healthy by taking care of yourself and getting regular checkups. If you notice that something doesn’t feel right, or if it hurts when you move around, make an appointment with your doctor right away.
